Tom Hyde

Tom founded our company in 1992. Since then, the company has grown to become a top Recruiting Agency in the country. Recently, the company has been nominated for the Nashville Business Journal "Best in Business" Awards.


We take great pride in providing a career path for our search associates, so we've been able to assemble a high-achieving team of professionals with an unmatched combination of strong industry and educational experience. The benefit to our client partners is that we can provide a multi-dimensional, results-oriented approach to even the most difficult single search or the largest professional staffing projects. For example, we recently placed the CEO of a Tennessee County, NJ-based Human Resources Manager for a European-based Technology firm and Plant Manager for an Alabama automotive manufacturer, all in the same month.


We have both the search community contacts and research library available to allow us to become productive with minimal ramp-up time and precise results.


Matt Sells
Operations Manager

Matt joined the staff in November 2005 after working for 15 years in the steel industry in Operations Management. He spent several of those years in the steel industry with an international steel company supplying automotive accounts.


Matt is native of Tennessee and when not working, he enjoys spending time with his three sons. He is also a dedicated youth sports coach and volunteer and loves spending weekends taking his sons to wrestling tournaments and baseball or football games.


Susan Reed
Account Executive

Susan manages the LED/Solid-State Lighting Division of United Recruiters with additional intense focus on advanced manufacturing for Japanese automotive suppliers. Susan's goal is to find high quality candidates so her clients can focus on what they do best: develop and manufacture high quality products and increase market share.

After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Computer Science, Susan joined IBM, spending 10 years in various technical and management positions. She later ran a small business for 7 years. This blend of large and small company experience gives Susan a unique perspective on what makes a great employee. She believes technical ability and experience are equally important to a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Susan listens to her clients carefully, gathering all job requirements. She then utilizes her extensive network and candidate database, heavily screening all candidates to ensure they have the necessary skills for each position. Susan has filled positions ranging from CEO, Division Presidents and Directors, Engineers, Sales, Manufacturing and Quality Management.

Susan has gained clients in multiple industries: advanced manufacturing for automotive, LEDs, Solid-State Lighting and optoelectronics. Her desk specialties are related to roles critical for designing, manufacturing and selling products in these industries.


Ginny Ropp

Ginny manages the Industrial Automation Division at United Recruiters, working with small, medium and large-sized companies all over the U.S. Her commitment to customer service, building relationships, problem-solving, and attention to detail are all assets used in her focus on uniting innovative organizations across the U.S. with exceptional engineering, sales, business development, and management professionals.

Originally from New Jersey, Ginny has lived in the Nashville area since 1989. She spent 16 years in the IT field - most recently serving as a Project Manager for a national IT solutions provider - prior to joining United Recruiters in January 2008.


Alicia Warren

Taking charge of the Automation Distribution Division of United Recruiters, Alicia is ready to meet your hiring needs with a keen eye for talent that will save your company time and money. She has been with United Recruiters since 2012, and has quickly become an essential member of our team, bringing in new business through intelligently planned marketing campaigns and excellent candidate identification.

Her current active candidates/searches include: Applications Engineers, Control Engineers, Outside Sales Reps, Automation Engineers, Technical Sales Engineers, Buyers/Planners, & Production Supervisors from around the country that specialize in working with capital electrical equipment and electrical components for Industrial Automation.

A recent graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Marketing concentration, Alicia has an energy and intelligence that she brings to every day matched by few. She is a diligent worker, who worked full time hours, while she was a full time student, demonstrating her organizational and time-management skills her first year at our company. Alicia utilizes her educational background from her coursework in Personal Selling, Promotions, Marketing Management, and Strategic Management every day to implement new marketing strategies to increase the success of her Automation Distribution Division.

When Alicia finds time to relax, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing golf with her friends, and refinishing furniture she finds in her antiques hunting.

Adrien Stricklin
Account Executive

Adrien joined United Recruiters in March of 2014 as an Account Executive focusing on Biotechnology, Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals. He brings eight years of experience in healthcare sales, marketing, management and recruiting. A 2003 B.B.A. graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), Adrien is also currently pursuing his M.B.A. at that same institution.

His past healthcare career includes roles such as Field Operations Manager and Director of Business Development with the Aegis Group where he sold to and managed hospital partnerships, Sales Development Manager with ConnectivHealth and Patient Care Sales Supervisor with Simplex Healthcare. From his previous healthcare career, Adrien learned firsthand the benefits of having the right person for the job in place. Hiring and rehiring for a critical position through non-targeted candidate searches can be a large capital and productivity drain. That is why Adrien strives to understand a client’s specific needs and to quickly identify the perfect fit for a successful client/candidate partnership.

Outside of United Recruiters, Adrien spends time with his wife Emily, and their three young children. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys fishing, birding, and hiking.


Chris Matheny
Account Executive

Chris works with the Automation Division at United Recruiters where he finds the best talent in the industry for his clients. His diverse background and highly creative approaches allow him to aggressively tackle difficult searches and locate passive job seekers others miss.

Upon earning a BA in History from Concord University, Chris spent a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA building capacity in local watershed groups before earning an MS in Environmental Science and moving to Tennessee. He quickly established himself in our office, with his tenacious attitude and affable demeanor contributing to his quick success.

During his free time, Chris enjoys fishing, kayaking, gaming, and spending time with his wife and two dogs.


Janice Denson

Janice joined our staff in 2015 and is now heading up our Machine Tool, Construction, and Manufacturing Division. Our company quickly embraced Janice as a respected member of our team. She transitioned into the recruiting world without difficulty and has proven that she has what it takes to be a successful recruiter. She enjoys the satisfaction of helping clients find and recruit the best for their organization while also helping candidates advance their careers.

Prior to joining our staff, she worked for 10 years in staffing where she partnered with both international and domestic manufacturing companies to help find qualified candidates for primarily manufacturing and IT industries. Janice attended Ashford University where she received her Bachelor's of Administration in Organizational Management and Human Resources.

Janice enjoys traveling to her hometown of Morristown, a small town tucked away in the beauty of East TN, to visit family and especially her grandkids. She also enjoys performing musical theatre and this year starred in productions of Bonnie and Clyde and My Fair Lady.


Claire Harden

A second-generation Nashville native, Claire joined United Recruiters in 2014. Claire assists Account Executive, Susan Reed, as a Project Coordinator. She aids Susan by sourcing and screening candidates to meet clients expectations and needs. She graduated from University of Tennessee at Martin with a BSBA in International Business and a minor in Japanese in 2012. Her career in Human Resources began back in college as an HR File Clerk and she has since handled everything from employee on-boarding to employer-side unemployment.

Claire does not know the meaning of spare time. She has helped run registration for two local fan conventions, Middle Tennessee Anime Convention (MTAC) and Geek Media Expo (GMX), for the past four years. She has recently stepped down from her position as Director of Registration with MTAC and GMX to become the J-Funland Coordinator for the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival. Claire is also a member of the Japan-America Society of Tennessee’s Young Professionals (JAST YP).


Cindy Armour
Project Coordinator

Cindy was recently appointed as the full-time Project Coordinator for Erik Hoffman, Account Executive. She aids Erik in locating candidates, as well as, clients, in the Machine Tool, Construction, and Manufacturing Industries.

Cindy began with United Recruiters as an Operation Center Specialist and was tasked with organizing and scheduling research projects and electronic marketing for the Account Executives, as well as, assisting the Operations Center Manager with day-to-day assignments.

Her prior experience included 20 years as an Administrative Assistant with The State of Tennessee, followed by 10+ years as a preschool teacher and substitute teacher.

In her spare time, Cindy enjoys touring with the Commemorative Air Force across the United States, working with local Veteran groups and spending time with family.


Amy McAdoo
Operations Center Manager

Amy joined United Recruiters in 2007 after receiving her Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Over the past seven years, Amy has progressed from a new college grad to the Operations Center Manager, a multi-faceted role in charge of Marketing, Social Media, Data Management, and Operations.

Amy and her team handle all of the graphic design, branding, and marketing strategies that help keep our companies on the forefront of technology. She is responsible for developing, managing, growing, and maintaining social media accounts for the business. Amy also directs our research department to gather important information that helps our businesses and clients stay on top of emerging talented professionals, marketing, social media trends, and news within their respective niche industries. Lastly, she serves as the community contact to our operations and can handle any questions that you may have regarding our business for both clients and candidates.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys cooking, concerts, reading, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.


Kelsey Gordon

Originally from Michigan, Kelsey joined United Recruiters in 2012 after recently moving to the Nashville area. She attended Olivet College her freshman year and then transferred to Mercyhurst College where she graduated in 2010 with a degree in Business Management. During college, Kelsey was part of the Mercyhurst Women’s Basketball team.

Prior to working at United Recruiters, Kelsey worked for a custom electronics manufacturing company in Elkhart, IN. Kelsey worked in production before moving into a customer service and administrative role.

In her current position, Kelsey is responsible for marketing, maintaining the company’s online job boards, and communicating with Account Executives on exciting hiring developments. She is an integral part to the inner workings of United Recruiters. She also serves as a public contact to both clients and candidates.

When not working, Kelsey enjoys music and attending concerts and festivals. Whenever she’s back in Michigan she loves spending time with friends and family.


Lora Caperton
Candidate Development Coordinator

Lora graduated from Bridgewater College in Virginia with a degree in Business Administration. For the past 16 years, she worked across multiple industries, providing data and assisting companies in implementing compensation and benefit plans. Her organizational skills and business savvy are great assets.

In her free time, Lora enjoys reading, sewing and creating things (such as cakes). During the spring and fall she likes to spend time outdoors camping and hiking.
