Matt joined the staff in November 2005 after working for 15 years in the steel industry in Operations Management. He spent several of those years in the steel industry with an international steel company supplying automotive accounts.
Matt is native of Tennessee and when not working, he enjoys spending time with his three sons. He is also a dedicated youth sports coach and volunteer and loves spending weekends taking his sons to wrestling tournaments and baseball or football games.
After 10 years in various management positions at IBM and later running a small business, Susan obtained a unique prospective on what makes a great employee. Technical ability and experience are equally important to positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Computer Science, Susan joined IBM, spending 10 years in various technical and management positions. She later ran a small business for 7 years. This blend of large and small company experience gives Susan a unique perspective on what makes a great employee. Susan's goal is to find high quality candidates so her clients can focus on what they do best: develop and manufacture high quality products and increase market share. Susan listens to her clients carefully, gathering all job requirements. She then utilizes her 15 year network and candidate database, heavily screening all candidates to ensure they have the necessary skills for each position. Susan has filled positions ranging from CEO, Division Presidents and Directors, Engineers, Sales, Manufacturing and Quality Management.
Susan has gained clients in multiple industries: advanced manufacturing for automotive, LEDs, Solid-State Lighting and optoelectronics. Her desk specialties are related to roles critical for designing, manufacturing and selling products in these industries.
Ginny manages the Industrial Automation Division at United Recruiters, working with small, medium and large-sized companies all over the U.S. Her commitment to customer service, building relationships, problem-solving, and attention to detail are all assets used in her focus on uniting innovative organizations across the U.S. with exceptional engineering, sales, business development, and management professionals.
Originally from New Jersey, Ginny has lived in the Nashville area since 1989. She spent 16 years in the IT field - most recently serving as a Project Manager for a national IT solutions provider - prior to joining United Recruiters in January 2008.
Leading the Machine Tool, Manufacturing, Construction, and Mexico Expansion Division of United Recruiters, Erik is the go-to recruiter for hard-to-find positions in our office. He brings a sought-after understanding of international business perspective to our firm, and an adaptability that bring a sense of instant confidence with new clients and the ability to maintain long-term client relationships. He utilizes his work experience with his innate ability to determine what skill sets and personal attributes a successful manufacturing operation seeks in new talent acquisition with collaborative assistance by Account Coordinator Megan Rawls.
After graduating from university, Erik worked in total 5 years overseas in Korea and Japan before returning to the U.S. with keen and direct insights from a Japanese corporate culture to transplant U.S. operations' hiring needs. By working directly with the management, he centered discussions on how best to relate to foreign business partners and adapt to meet their needs from an international perspective.
Now with United Recruiters, since 2005, Erik maintains an internationally diverse clientele spanning across multiple industries. This division takes care to focus directly on building relationships with their clients, and ensuring that each candidate submitted will help build up the businesses we work with, through careful candidate cultivation and thoughtful marketing, he has earned the business of excellent companies and satisfied hard to fill roles consistently.
As an Account Executive, he has successfully facilitated an array of hires from Manufacturing Engineers, Applications Engineers and Global Sales Managers to Vice Presidents of Engineering and General Managers for well-known clientele in varying industries: heavy industrial construction, metals-based automotive manufacturing, cutting tools, machine tools, expansions of sales territories into Mexico, robotics, manufacturing concerns for stamping, die cast, cold forming, roll forming and welding industries.
Erik is available to hear about your particular hiring needs across the Americas and has been very actively recruiting in Mexico for bilingual and trilingual speakers (Japanese/Spanish/English) in areas of Sales Management and Engineering.
Erik enjoys hiking the Cumberland Plateau and spending time with his wife enjoying her great Osaka-style cooking.
After graduating from Tennessee Technological University, Al spent over 25 years in the transportation industry with not only large corporations but also small niche carriers. His work experience has been in operations, claims, sales, facility management, administration, safety and human resources. Al’s experience dealing with not only internal but external customers makes him an excellent fit for the Logistics, Supply Chain Management and Transportation division of United Recruiters.
Away from work, Al can normally be found on either a soccer or rugby field. He is an active college and high school soccer referee and supervisor of officials. He also serves as the Executive Director of the state rugby association.
Mike was born and raised in Texas. After graduating from High School, Mike worked for Continental Oil Company as an Asst. District Supervisor covering Dallas/Ft Worth territory. He then joined the United States Air Force and served honorably for 6 years until deciding to move to Nashville in 1981. He was soon offered a position in sales with a large corporation that was expanding to Tennessee. Prior to joining United Recruiters, Mike was a Regional Manager responsible for recruiting and retaining top sales talent. For 28 years, Mike’s continued success was based on his ability to locate and motivate the “best of the best” to join his team.
Mike was referred to United Recruiters in December of 2012 and joined our team in January 2013. He now drives our Health Care/Senior Care Team, and his talent has shown in his ability to find the “perfect fit” for his clients.
In his spare time, Mike likes to entertain friends, be the “Grill Master”, and be with his family.
Coming from a sales background, Alicia has brought a fresh blast of personality to United Recruiters. She joined our team in 2012, as an Account Coordinator for the Industrial Automation Division. She is essential in all marketing campaigns and candidate recruitment, leading a fearless charge to headhunt the best candidate for each position in her specialty. Her current active candidates include: Sales Managers, Applications Engineers, Control Engineers, Business Development Manages and Process Automation Engineers from around the country that specialize in working with capital electrical equipment and electrical components for Industrial Automation.
A new graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration, Alicia has an energy and intelligence that she brings to every day matched by few. She grew up in the small town of Pulaski, TN where she graduated high school, elected as the Girls Vice-President of her class, with high honors leading to 4 scholarships/grants funding her education at MTSU. She is a diligent worker, who worked full time hours, while she was a full time student, demonstrating her organizational and time-management skills. Alicia utilizes her educational background from her coursework in Personal Selling, Promotions, Marketing Management, and Strategic Management every day to implement new marketing strategies to increase the success of the Industrial Automation Division.
When Alicia finds time to relax, she enjoys visiting her family in Pulaski, playing golf with her friends, and refinishing furniture she finds in her antiques hunting.
Ashley is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Following graduation, she began her career in recruitment working for a firm in Nashville specializing in IT, administration, and engineering.
Ashley joined the United Recruiters family in the summer of 2012. She serves as an Account Coordinator working with one of our Senior Executive Recruiters, Susan Reed. Ashley is responsible for searching, screening, and debriefing candidates for current and potential clients. She communicates with both clients and candidates on a daily basis and has a keen sense for matching the right people with the right organizations. Ashley works primarily work in the LED (light-emitting diode) / SSL (solid state lighting) industries as well as Japanese Automotive and Manufacturing.
When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, a local high school basketball coach, and her golden retriever, Chipper.
Crystal was recruited in 2013 specifically for her highly regarded organizational skills, strong leadership abilities, and straight-forward demeanor to help advance the Senior Care Division of United Recruiters. She has brought a new ferocity to the division by building the Senior Care database with top-notch talent, by ensuring a quick turnaround for candidate submissions to our clients, and by motivating her co-workers to do their best work. Currently, she is seeking candidates to fill roles as Administrators, Directors of Nursing, Marketers, and Executive Directors for long-term care, skilled nursing, and nursing home facilities around the country.
After spending most of her young life in San Diego, Crystal was moved to Middle Tennessee by her parents at the age of 15. In 2004, she graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Air Force; however, she was diagnosed with asthma while in basic training and received an honorable discharge. Post military, Crystal spent 7 years in loss prevention, management, and administrative roles for a large retail company. Since 2010, she has been a student at Middle Tennessee State University pursuing her B.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting; her anticipated graduation date is May 2014. Outside of work Crystal enjoys photography, reading, and spending time in nature. If she could spend every weekend hiking, camping, and canoeing/kayaking, then she would.
Emerging from the world of retail, Megan was brought onto the United Recruiters team in 2012, joining the Machine Tool, Japanese Manufacturing, and Mexico Expansion Division of Mr. Japanese as an Account Coordinator for Erik Hoffman. She brings an analytical perspective & organizational skills to streamline the candidate identification process, ensuring not only does a candidate look good on paper, but their personality will mesh with our client's organizations. She helps lead the research team to identify the specialized talent that her desk requires, conducts screening interviews for potential candidates, and aids in interview setups between clients and candidates. Her division is actively making placements in EHS, Automotive Sales, Chemical Engineers, Quality, Mechanical Design, Die Cast, Project Architects, Structural Engineers, Bilingual Japanese & German Engineers, Trilingual Sales (English, Spanish, & Japanese), and CNC field service. The more specialized, the more she enjoys the search.
Megan received her Bachelor's in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University with a minor in European Studies in 2010, while being a member of the Band of Blue & MTSU Basketball Pep Band. She draws from her course work in Industrial/Occupational Psychology, Personality, and Research Methods courses to make her division a success.
Originally from Virginia Beach, VA, she grew up in Milan, TN, graduating in the Top Ten of her class, while demonstrating her leadership qualities as assistant band captain and trumpet soloist/section leader, and receiving the John Philip Sousa concert award voted on by her peers. She's lived in Murfreesboro, TN since 2006 spending her free time painting (oil & acrylic), volunteering with Nashville Cares, reading, and checking out the local music scene.
Operations Center Specialist
Amy joined United Recruiters in 2007 after receiving her Marketing and Business Administration Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. During college, Amy participated in philanthropic events aiding in Arthritis Research and led positions for the Student Government Association. She worked as a customer service specialist in the Murfreesboro area prior to coming to United Recruiters.
In her current position, Amy is responsible for electronic marketing, database management, public relations, and serves as a community contact of the organization. She works with candidates and clients to unite qualifications and requirements to ensure a mutually beneficial match. She enjoys speaking with professionals on a daily basis from all over the United States.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys concert festivals, traveling, camping, cooking, water skiing, and spending time with her husband and daughter. While in school, Amy participated in a Rotary Foreign Exchange Program and lived with a family in Switzerland.
Operations Center Specialist
Originally from Michigan, Kelsey joined United Recruiters in 2012 after recently moving to the Nashville area. She attended Olivet College her freshman year and then transferred to Mercyhurst College where she graduated in 2010 with a degree in Business Management. During college, Kelsey was part of the Mercyhurst Women’s Basketball team.
Prior to working at United Recruiters, Kelsey worked for a custom electronics manufacturing company in Elkhart, IN. Kelsey worked in production before moving into a customer service and administrative role.
In her current position, Kelsey is responsible for marketing, maintaining the company’s online job boards, and communicating with Account Executives on exciting hiring developments. She is an integral part to the inner workings of United Recruiters. She also serves as a public contact to both clients and candidates.
When not working, Kelsey enjoys music and attending concerts and festivals. Whenever she’s back in Michigan she loves spending time with friends and family.
Candidate Development Coordinator
Lora graduated from Bridgewater College in Virginia with a degree in Business Administration. For the past 16 years, she worked across multiple industries, providing data and assisting companies in implementing compensation and benefit plans. Her organizational skills and business savvy are great assets.
In her free time, Lora enjoys reading, sewing and creating things (such as cakes). During the spring and fall she likes to spend time outdoors camping and hiking.
